NEACH Delivers Key Infrastructure for Defence Project at Gallipoli Barracks

NEACH is proud to announce the successful completion of a significant infrastructure project at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, in partnership with Lendlease. This $101.1 million project, part of the Land 121 Stage 5B initiative, enhances the Australian Army and Royal Australian Airforce vehicle capabilities with state-of-the-art facilities.

A Strategic National Investment

This project was part of a broader $150 million investment by the Australian government, aimed at modernising the country’s military vehicle capabilities. As the previous Defence Minister Peter Dutton highlighted, the new generation of light, medium, and heavy vehicles will play a crucial role in supporting various operations, including combat, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and training.

Supporting Local Economies

In addition to its strategic importance, this project represents a significant boost to the Queensland economy. With an anticipated peak workforce of about 150 people per day over the three-year construction period, the initiative is set to provide numerous opportunities for local businesses. Defence Industry Minister Melissa Price emphasized the commitment to local workforce participation, with Lendlease aiming for 85% local workforce involvement in the works at Gallipoli Barracks.

NEACH’s Expertise in Defence Infrastructure

NEACH is proud to be part of this transformative project, contributing over $10 million in subcontracted work. Our team will be responsible for constructing major structures, including workshops, armouries, shelters, base refuelling facilities, and inspection ramps. These facilities are crucial for the implementation, storage, and servicing of the new protected and unprotected vehicles.
