Caloundra Interchange

Transport & Main Roads – Caloundra Interchange Upgrade.

NEACH is proud to highlight our involvement in the Caloundra Interchange Upgrade, a key part of the Bruce Highway Upgrade between Caloundra Road and the Sunshine Motorway. This major infrastructure project, valued at $929.3 million and managed by Fulton Hogan and John Holland, is a vital enhancement for one of Queensland’s most important transport corridors.

Project Overview

The Bruce Highway Upgrade is a critical infrastructure project aimed at expanding the highway to six lanes, along with comprehensive upgrades to the Caloundra Road and Sunshine Motorway interchanges. Additionally, the project includes the construction of a new service road for local traffic on the western side of the highway between Steve Irwin Way and Tanawha Tourist Drive. The upgrade is designed to deliver essential safety improvements, reduce traffic congestion, and meet the growing transport needs of the Sunshine Coast region.

NEACH’s Contribution:

As an MRTS78 certified fabricator, certification ensures that we meet the stringent quality standards required for transport infrastructure projects in Queensland. Our work included the installation of railings, throw screens, and other critical metal structures, enhancing the functionality and safety of the interchange and providing long-term benefits for motorists and local communities.

The Caloundra Interchange Upgrade is one of Queensland’s highest priority road projects, aimed at addressing key issues such as traffic congestion and road safety. The enhancements are not only crucial for current traffic demands but are also designed to accommodate future growth and strategic transport needs in the region.
